14th Annual Scientific Sessions
September 16 - 18, 2026

Welcome

On behalf of the Cardiac Neurodevelopmental Outcome Collaborative (CNOC), members of CNOC’s Steering and Program Committees, and our Diamond Host, Nemours Children’s Health, we are thrilled to welcome you to CNOC’s 14th Annual Scientific Sessions: Riverfront Reflections: Bridging Research, Advocacy, and Care in Cardiac Neurodevelopment

Throughout this year’s meeting, we will hear from leaders in the field of cardiac neurodevelopment as we explore cutting-edge science, innovative clinical approaches, advocacy initiatives, and quality improvement from around the world. We are excited to present an engaging program of multidisciplinary faculty experts who are invested in the care of individuals with pediatric and congenital heart disease and their families, and dedicated to improving neurodevelopmental and psychosocial outcomes.

Conference highlights include:

  • Pre-Conference Workshop: "Advocacy in Action: Building a National Voice for Cardiac Neurodevelopmental Care". This interactive workshop will bring together providers, researchers, and families to align around a shared advocacy agenda for CHD, with a focus on neurodevelopmental outcomes. Hosted by Every 100th Heart in partnership with CNOC, the session will explore how clinical research, patient experience, and federal policy intersect to shape outcomes for CHD patients.
  • Fast-paced, cutting-edge sessions featuring debates on ADHD and infant ND testing, TED-style talks on translational research, and educational supports from the classroom to a career.
  • We proudly present this year’s Newburger-Bellinger Cardiac Neurodevelopmental Award to an individual who has made significant contributions to clinical care, research knowledge, or teaching leading to improvements in the neurodevelopmental outcomes of individuals with pediatric or congenital heart disease.
  • The Cardiac Neurodevelopmental Advocacy and Engagement Award will be presented for the third time to an individual or group who has made significant contributions to advocacy, community engagement, or outreach within the area of cardiac neurodevelopment, mental health, and/or quality of life leading to improvements in the lives of individuals with pediatric or congenital heart disease and their families.
  • On Wednesday evening, join your colleagues for a Celebration Dinner amidst the art galleries at the Delaware Contemporary, just steps from the conference venue on the Wilmington Riverfront. On Thursday evening, explore the stunning Nemours Estate, listen to live music, and enjoy great food at the Estate’s Third Thursday event.
  • Breakout Sessions are back with virtual capabilities for all sessions. With 3 exciting options it will be hard to pick just one!
    • Clinical Value: "Starting Strong, Growing Smart: Collaborative Pathways to Successful and Sustainable Cardiac Neurodevelopmental Programs" This interactive workshop brings together clinicians, coordinators, and program leaders to explore practical strategies for developing, expanding, and sustaining outpatient cardiac neurodevelopmental programs.
    • "Research Frontier: Connecting Your Questions to Collaboration" Turn your clinical observations into high-impact projects through this dynamic, fast-paced "speed-networking" session designed to accelerate your research or quality improvement (QI) journey. Whether you are a trainee looking for your first mentor or a seasoned clinician ready to launch a multicenter trial, this breakout provides the direct access and expertise needed to move your ideas forward.
    • Cardiac Newborn Neuroprotective Network (CN3) presents “Think-Tank” The CN3 Think Tank is a high-impact breakout session dedicated to the power of "local" ideas. Grassroot projects that are having impact at the single institution level will be presented to a panel of neurodevelopmental leaders. These presenters will receive direct, expert feedback and networking support to address barriers and refine their process. Through audience participation and networking, projects will be evaluated for potential multi-institutional CN3 supported initiatives.
  • As always, selected scientific work will be on display as posters and oral presentations for the Best of the Best submitted abstracts. The conference concludes with a moderated Wine & Wisdom poster session to enhance interaction and collaboration while celebrating the incredible work being done throughout CNOC.

We thank you for supporting CNOC’s 14th Annual Scientific Sessions and cannot wait to see you, either in person at the picturesque riverfront in Wilmington, Delaware or virtually from around the world. Welcome!

Warmest wishes,
